Five people were injured in a suspected drunk driving car accident Saturday night in Ocean Shores, according to news reports.
The accident occurred around 7 p.m. along Highway 109, according to the Washington State Patrol. The 36-year-old driver was heading south on the highway at high speeds when he crossed the center lane and crashed into a vehicle with five people inside. The vehicle he hit spun around multiple times, then crashed into another vehicle with two people inside.
The driver who caused the crash tried to flee the scene by foot, but he was found and arrested around 11 p.m. Saturday for investigation of DUI and felony hit-and-run.
All five passengers in the first vehicle were injured and taken to Community Hospital. Their condition or extent of their injuries is unknown. The two passengers in the second vehicle were not injured.
