One man was injured after rear-ending a semi truck on Tuesday afternoon, according to recent news sources.

The man, of Zillah, was driving eastbound on Interstate 82, just south of Ellensburg, reported the Washington State Patrol. The 44-year-old man was driving a 2006 Ford van. Around 3:20 p.m., he rear-ended a semi truck, a 2000 Volvo. The truck was pulling two trailers.

The driver of the van was transported via air ambulance to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The other driver sustained no injuries.

Washington State Patrol said that traffic was rerouted through the collision scene while a lane of Interstate 82 was closed for four hours while the investigation took place. They are unsure at this time whether the drivers were wearing seat belts. The accident is still under investigation and charges are pending.

As a auto accident attorney Bellevue, I’m sorry to hear of this accident and hope this man is able to recover from this accident. I want to remind all drivers to keep their eyes on the road at all times, as an accident can occur if you look away for even a second. If you have been involved in an accident and believe it was the fault of another party, it’s in your best interest to contact a personal injury lawyer as soon as possible.
