Dritz™ Electric Scissors Recalled (Fire and Burn Hazard)

The Dritz Quick Cut (TM) electric scissors have been recalled by Prym Consumer USA, of Spartanburg, S.C. There are about 12,000 units affected by this recall. Supposedly the electric scissors can overheat and pose a fire hazard as well as burn hazards.

The scissors are manufactured in China and sold at Jo-Ann fabrics and Craft Stores as well as other craft stores nationwide from September 2009 through February 2010. The retail price was around $50. If you have a pair of these scissors do not use them again. You should take them back to the store that you purchased that at. Or you can mail them back to Prym Consumer USA directly and receive a refund.

If you are going to mail your electric scissors back to Prym directly  you are instructed to include the product, your full name, mailing address and phone number in the package and mail to:

Prym Consumer USA Recall Center
950 Brisack Road,
Spartanburg, SC 29303

If you have any further questions or you need some more help you can contact them at: 1-800-255-7796 (Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. ET. If you’d prefer to email them you may do so at: [email protected]

Again I can’t stress enough that if you have a pair of these scissors you need to stop using them right away and take advantage of the refund. As a personal injury lawyer in Seattle I know that you don’t want to risk personal injury from a¬†. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.
