DePuy Orthopaedic’s Compensation Cop-Out

When it comes to the recent ASR hip implant recall, it seems that DePuy Orthopaedics, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, is trying to get off as easy as possible.  In their first press release, they made a statement that they would only cover reasonable medical monitoring and treatment costs.  But what about all the other damages the victims of the recall are facing?  As an ASR hip recall lawyer, many of my clients are dealing with lost wages, physical disability, excruciating pain and having to give up many of the activities that they enjoyed doing before their failed implant.

The process DePuy is going about for “compensation” for the victim’s of the recall, is by having patients pay for their medical expenses up front.  So, if you are a victim of a failed DePuy hip implant, you would have to submit your bills to your regular health insurance company first (assuming you even have insurance) or even Medicare.   As it stands, DePuy has offered to pay for out of pocket expenses and deductibles only.  As a Seattle personal injury lawyer, this is one of the biggest copouts I’ve seen from a responsible party.

This is exactly the reason why it’s so important to have a DePuy hip recall attorney on your side.  They can make sure that DePuy is held accountable for their negligence and that you are properly compensated.
