The Washington State Patrol is investigating and hit-and-run accident involving a bicyclist in Spanaway.

The incident happened at about 10 p.m. Wednesday on State Route 7. A 43-year-old man on a bicyclist was reportedly struck by a 1998 Dodge Ram pickup truck being driven by a 54-year-old man.

Police said the driver left the scene but was found a short time later. It was unclear if drugs or alcohol were involved. The condition of the cyclist was not known, but he was transported to the hospital.
