Bassettbaby is recalling 90,000 more cribs because their moveable sides could detach from the crib.

When you tuck your child in at night you want to leave them in a safe environment to sleep, so the recall of 9 million cribs is something to pay attention to.

Bassettbaby is recalling 90,000 cribs because their moveable sides could detach from the crib.

Bassettbaby has recalled 9 million cribs since 2005 because of potential problems with “drop side” rails, which move up and down to make it easier for parents to lift a child out of the crib.

The dangerous sides pose a strangulation hazard to infants. Since 2000, at least 32 infants or toddlers have suffocated or strangled after those rails detached, creating a space between the side of the crib and the mattress. Children can also fall out of the crib if the rail is detached.

The recalled cribs are made from wood, with a metal mattress support. They were sold at stores and online for $200 to $500.

As a personal injury lawyer in Bellevue I urge parents to stop using the cribs immediately and contact Bassettbaby for a kit that will stop the rail from moving. If your child has suffered injuries from a recalled crib, contact a Seattle personal injury lawyer.
