Crash Delays Kingston Ferry

One person was injured in a car accident while boarding a Kingston ferry on Monday, according to news reports.

The car accident reportedly occurred around 4:30 p.m. when vehicles were boarding the Spokane ferry set to depart at 4:40 p.m. It is unclear exactly how the collision occurred, but Washington State Ferry employees said one vehicle collided with a railing, causing at least one other vehicle to crash.

One person sustained injuries in the collision and was transported to a hospital, according to North Kitsap Fire & Rescue.

The incident caused the state ferry traffic to be delayed at least 20 minutes.

Investigators are working to determine exactly how the collision occurred.
