A 9-year-old girl was seriously injured when she was struck by a car in Bremerton, Wash., on Thursday, according to news reports.

The car accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. when the girl was reportedly walking at Lebo Blvd. and Oak Street near Lebo Recreation Area. It is unclear exactly how the collision occurred, or if the child was on the sidewalk at the time of the collision or in the roadway.
The girl sustained head injuries when she was struck by the car, according to Kitsap County dispatch. Her current condition or extent of injuries is unclear, but police said the girl was bleeding from the head.
The accident is being investigated. Washington State Patrol troopers are working to determine all the factors involved in the crash.
