Several local news agencies have revealed that a 9-year-old girl from Vancouver was unfortunately killed as a result of an accident that happened on Interstate 5 last week.

The accident that took place in Ridgefield happened when a 2006 Toyota Corolla traveling on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 suddenly veered off the road and crashed into a tree. According to the Washington State Patrol, the 27-year-old motorist lost grip of the wheel while driving on the slick road just before the vehicle drove off the roadway.

A 7-year-old was also taken to the hospital sustaining serious injuries. The driver and a 32-year-old passenger were transported to the hospital sustaining moderate injuries.

While the Washington State Patrol is still investigating this accident, charges are still pending. Further detailed information related to this accident wasn’t immediately available.

As a personal injury lawyer Seattle, I sincerely hope that the young child injured in this accident is recovering quickly and fully from the wounds she sustained. I’m terribly saddened to have learned that this accident resulted in the death of a young girl and sincerely hope that the family of the victim is receiving all the support they deserve in this difficult moment of their lives. I encourage you to never forget that if the road is slick you should slow down to ensure your safety and the safety of those traveling with you.
