Century Mattresses Recalled for Fire Hazard

Chicago Century Furniture Corp. has recalled approximately 340 Century Mattresses that do not meet government requirements for fire safety, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The mattresses fall short of the mandatory federal open flame standard, and by not meeting that standard, the product could pose a fire hazard to customers, the CPSC states.

The recall involves Chicago Century Furniture Corp. mattresses that come in twin, full, queen and king sizes with the model number “MG006.” The mattresses are three inches thick and come in white and off-white fabric with a tone-on-tone swirl pattern. You can find the model number on a paper tag attached to the foot of the mattress and the words “Century Spring Mattress” on the fabric label on the top side of the mattress. You will also see a picture of a man and woman embracing on the label.

The product was sold exclusively at Chicago Century Furniture Inc. from January 2008 through October 2010 for $190 to $360.

The company will contact customers directly. Anyone who owns this mattress should immediately stop using it and contact the store to receive a replacement mattress. You can contact the company with any additional questions at 1-855-236-8830.
