A 13-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday while driving a car with his allegedly drunken dad in the passenger seat, according to news reports.
The incident occurred around noon Tuesday when Washington State Patrol troopers reportedly spotted a car driving erratically on S. 166th Street in SeaTac. The vehicle was reportedly weaving in the lane and was “violently stomping the brakes,” according to the trooper.
The trooper also noticed the driver looked young. When he pulled the vehicle over, he realized the driver was 13 years old and the passenger was his intoxicated father, according to news reports.
The dad was arrested and booked into the King County Jail for investigation of Reckless Endangerment and Allowing an Unauthorized Person to Drive, according to news reports.
No charges were made against the teenage driver. He was released to his mother following the incident.
No personal injuries or car accidents were reported in connection to the dangerous driving.
As a Tacoma car accident attorney, I’m glad to hear that no one was seriously injured in this teenage driving incident. I hope this parent learns from his mistakes and something like this never happens again.
