A semi-truck went over an embankment on Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie pass late Wednesday night, according to news reports.
The semi-truck driver was traveling in the eastbound lanes of I-90 near mile marker 86 when he lost control of his truck and went over an embankment. The truck accident occurred around 11:45 p.m.
It is unclear how the driver lost control of his truck or how the accident occurred. His condition is also unknown.
The truck accident caused major backups for motorists trying to make it over Snoqualmie Pass near the Wenatchee Interchange. The road was closed from around 11:45 to 6:05 a.m. Thursday. To avoid the crash site, motorists were advised to use exit 85 as a detour to State Route 10 or U.S. Highway 97, according to news reports.
As a Bellevue car accident attorney, I can only hope the truck driver is OK after the truck accident. It appears the accident was pretty bad because the roadway was closed for so long. Snoqualmie pass can be dangerous to drive this time of year when snow and ice blanket the mountain pass. I urge all drivers to be very cautious when driving on the pass, especially in the winter months. I hope the truck driver experiences a speedy recover if he was injured.
