Everybody’s favorite tech company has recalled thousands of its all electric cars over serious injury risks.
While we often report on auto recalls, we refrain from reporting on stories associated with issues that do not result in any major injuries or accidents. Still, we urge our readers and clients to beware of the risks if they are aware of a recall impacting their car and still fail to do something about it.
But what we’re most concerned about is automakers that choose to ignore their vehicles have equipment issues, putting the lives of countless drivers in grave danger.
Tesla has recalled all units of the Model X SUVs that were fitted with fold-flat second-row seats manufactured between Oct. 28, 2016 and Aug. 16, 2017.
These vehicles’ seats were fitted with cables that may have not been tightened correctly. If that’s the case, the left seat may not lock up in an upright position. In this case, the seat may end up moving forward in the event of a crash. Passengers occupying the seat may end up being injured.
Car owners who have been impacted are already being contacted. According to the reports, they are being told they may go to a Tesla dealer to have their vehicle repaired for free.
The company says it hasn’t learned of any accidents associated with this recall. Still, we hope that all impacted vehicle owners are doing all in their power to have their vehicles repaired as this issue may lead to injuries.
