The dog attacked the teen while in its owner’s home, causing the teen boy to suffer major injuries to his face, chin, eye, lip, neck, shoulder, and chest. Due to the injuries, he required 10 surgeries to work on some of the issues, but according to the teen’s lawyer, he might require at least two more in the future.

During the trial, the teen’s mother spoke about the pain and suffering her child had gone through, while also explaining that, because of the scars the teen will have to carry for the rest of his life, he will always have to recount the tragic tale.

Learning to keep an eye out for signs that the dog may be ready to attack may help you to avoid similar incidents. And even if is visitor is familiar with the dog, remind them to be respectful. Never allow a visitor or someone who’s not acquainted with your dog to pet him on the head. Teach them to let the dog sniff their hands beforehand and pet them where they can see them.
