Seattle Drivers: Bad Weather To Blame For Tragic I-90 Accident

We often help clients who are seriously injured in traffic accidents caused by bad weather. But every now and then, heartbroken family members also seek the help of attorneys with experience. While it saddens us to learn of accidents that have resulted in deaths, we are here to give our all to the victims. And it’s with the same dedication that we also report on some of these accidents.

The latest deadly accident to have taken place in Washington unfortunately involved a pregnant woman.

According to recent news reports, the Washington State Patrol has announced that a pregnant woman and her unborn child unfortunately died after the vehicle she was occupying crashed on eastbound 1-90.

The Sunday night accident happened near North Bend. And according to the WSP, the 27-year-old woman was a passenger in a vehicle driven by her husband. The car was carrying the couple and two children aged 5 and 3. The driver and the minors were taken to the hospital after the collision.

The Mitsubishi Galant driven by the 31-year-old veered off the road due to the road conditions, causing the vehicle to crash the guardrail before it came to rest down the embankment.

Officials say the cause is the bad weather.

At least 20 cars crashed in weather-related accidents along a I-90 stretch precisely because of the weather. On that day, the road was severely dangerous, as it was covered by hail, snow, and had also suffered under some rain.

It’s truly heartbreaking to learn of an accident such as this. Our thoughts go out to the victim’s family. We hope the injured members are being able to recover in full.

Bad weather driving can be a challenge even to the most experienced drivers out there. And while most Washingtonians will take pride in being good drivers year-round, it’s important to keep in mind that even the most skilled road veterans can lose control if the weather isn’t helping.

We want you to learn from this story by keeping in mind that the road will be slippery and difficult to navigate when it snows or rains. If you can avoid driving on days like this, that’s better. But if you must, never speed or become distracted.
