A motorcycle accident on Interstate 5 has claimed one life, local news outlets reported.
According to the reports, a 29-year-old female rider as well as a 41-year-old male rider lost control of their motorcycles while traveling northbound on I-5 after approaching a slower 2016 Ford Fusion vehicle. They eventually crashed into the rear of the passenger vehicle, causing them to be ejected from the motorcycles.
The female rider fell in the left lane where she ended up being struck by a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta. The male rider fell on the right shoulder of the road. The female rider died at the scene while the male rider was sent to the hospital.
Neither driver was injured.
Officials have yet to announce any factors that made this accident more likely to happen.
