In accordance with multiple news sources, Ford Escape vehicles that were manufactured between 2001 and 2002 have been equipped with possibly defective brake master cylinder reservoir caps, which are now being recalled.
These faulty caps may leak and lead to further complications with the vehicles, which may escalate and pose smoke or fire hazards. The caps can be replaced at a dealer free-of-charge; however, owners are instructed that parts may not be available immediately upon request.
Ford encourages owners of the recalled Escape vehicles to park their cars outdoors until the proper parts are available.
The company estimates that about 244,530 vehicles are affected by this recall.
As a Kirkland personal injury lawyer, I urge readers with the recalled vehicles to follow the company’s instructions. I hope the carmaker will be able to have all the faulty parts replaced in a timely manner so possible accidents don’t happen in the future.
I advise readers to remember that whenever you or a loved one is injured in an accident that was caused by a recalled vehicle, you should contact a personal injury lawyer to assess your case.
Do not delay.
