Driver Injured in DUI, Speed Crash in Toppenish

Many crashes occur because of the weather here in Washington. During harsh rains, roads flood or become slippery. And when it snows, black ice and snow will also make the road slippery. Sometimes even more son than when it rains heavily. Drivers across Washington must keep this in mind, especially because if not, they will be exposed to a great deal more of issues.

Unfortunately, many accidents have been occurring lately, and drivers have been exposing themselves and others to risks because of it. To experts, this could change if drivers are willing to slow down. But will they?

According to a series of news reports, another accident was reported recently. It took place on State Route 22. Just 4 miles north of Toppenish.

The driver was behind the wheel of a 2000 Chevrolet Impala on State Route 22 when she lost control over the car. As a result, the vehicle ended up crossing the center lane, striking a 2016 Ford F-150 pickup truck. The Ford driver did not suffer any injuries associated with the accident. The driver in the Impala, however, was rushed to the hospital. Reports on the state of her health weren’t released.

Officials who responded to the scene of the crash claim that the driver will be cited for driving under the influence. Officials also said the injured driver had been driving too fast for the weather conditions at the time.

As you can see, driving while under the influence and driving too fast for the conditions are some of the most dangerous activities a driver can take part in while behind the wheel. But distracted driving is just as dangerous, considering that the response time of a driver who’s distracted is just as prolonged as the time it takes for a drunken driver to respond to an emergency. If you’re serious about your safety and the safety of your loved ones, remember that — at all times. Otherwise, accidents like this may happen to you as well.
